Our Networks Division, which focuses on cable systems, is currently recruiting for an Applications Engineer to join our growing and dynamic team in Ajax, Ontario. POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Development and Engineering, the Applications Engineer will provide technical support to ATX customers and our Engineering and Sales Teams through the following duties:
- Provide technical support to Sales and Engineering Teams for proposal generation
- Provide technical product support to customers via telephone and e-mail on Passive and Active RF Management Equipment, Headends and MDU amplifiers
- Design and manage the development of new products for the Cable TV industry
- Prepare new product presentations and training seminars for Inside and Outside Sales Teams
- Prepare Headend Forward RF Combining and Reverse Splitting network designs specific to customer requirements, while taking into account proper isolation between broadcast and Narrowcast signals
- Monitor and report on industry trends
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Diploma or Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or related field of study, combined with a minimum of two years experience performing similar duties as listed above or an equivalent combination of work experience and or education
- Extensive background in RF and optical communication systems
- Technical working knowledge of CATV HFC systems, or wireless, satellite and/or optical communications
- Superior communication skills both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills capable of interacting with all levels of associates both internal and external to the organization
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
This position may require some travel (2-3 trips per year) both domestic and international. Candidates msut possess or be eligible to obtain a valid passport.
